Leaves: Elliptic-ovate; 15-30cm long, mostly 8-15cm wide. upper surface dark green, subglossy, midrib and main lateral veins paler; lowers surface silvery-tawny

Flower: axillary open panicles shorter than leaves

Fruit: keeled; approx. 5 m high; fruit-wall about 6-7mm thick

Habitat: restricted to the limestone cliffs and plateaus. tallest tree in the canopy, usually shading other trees.
